Oh, Canada

So it's Monday July 7th 2025 I'm a little ambivalent, crossing into Canada has not been easy in the past.  My old hippy look must set the border guards on edge.  For the second time I'm sent to the inspection area. They asked numerous questions. I suppose to try to trip me up. But I'm so innocent they have to let me go.  So here I am, inside the border of Canada.  I have no idea why Canadians write backwards  Monday, the same day, I pick up my traveling companion and his wife from the airport.  It took awhile. There was very limited signage directing me to the international section.  All we did from there was catch some zzzz's Tuesday morning we jumped in the car and headed to Banff National Park. Montana

 So, I stayed one night in Idaho then moved on to Montana.  My oldest son lives in Montana. As soon as I get there he throws me in the back of his truck.  He says we're going fishing  This is what we caught floating down the Missouri River.  A Sacramento River Rat. Next, we spent the 4th weekend camping at Chrytal Lake near by.   It was supposed to be good fishing but that didn't happen.    My son did get to try out his new inflatable kayak and my granddaughter and her new boyfriend were able to keep her inflatable paddle board from flipping over.  For those who were brave enough, the water was icy cold.  This is Crystal Lake. This is my new tent. I wanted to break it in before I got to Canada and then Alaska. After we got rained on for three days, we packed up to have a day off before those you still have a work schedule had to return to there daily grind.  Monday, July 7th, off to Canada

My Story Begins

 Welcome   This is my blog to share my travels from Nevada to Alaska via Canada.  I'm driving!!   I will begin on Saturday June 28, 2025.  My first stop will be Ely, NV to have brunch with a very good friend, Billy. After a brief stop I will continue on and spend the night in Idaho Falls. Sunday morning, the 29th I will drive to Stanford, MT and spend a week with my son and granddaughter. Why Le Cruz?  I'm driving a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, all wheel drive, Night. My eventual destination is Fairbanks, AK then Anchorage. I'm sharing this adventure because it will be my final adventure and first time to Alaska.  Alaska is also my 50th US State to visit. Yup, all of this is part of my Bucket List. I'm 74 y/o and have had a very adventurous life.  Well, at least I think so. 🤔  My friend, Wayne and his wife, will join me in Calgary, CN. We will first visit Baniff National Park and Jasper National Park.   Before we leave Calgar...
